Pair of antique 19th C Italian Neoclassical carved wooden gilt & white candlesticks. Elegant and unusual outswept triangular bases with rosette motifs. 

Bases unpainted on oblique sides in the typical manner. Striking and characterful patina commensurate with age, a few knocks and scrapes which of course only adds to their appeal. 

Good versatile size at 92cm tall - would sit well on a console table or chest of drawers, but imposing enough to be used as a feature if desired (as per pictures). 

Stand straight. In good, solid condition. Circa 1860.
