Pair of unusual and beautiful carved Italian giltwood altar sticks, circa 1760, in unrestored original condition. Acanthus leaf decoration to the stem. Laurel swags framing mirrored panels with original mercury plates cut into trapeziums. Knocks, splits and old woodworm marks. Oblique sides remain uncarved and ungilded in the typical manner for the period.
